Principles of Economics book launched in Wa
Wa ‘Principles of Economics Made Easy’ book has been unveiled in the Upper West regional capital, Wa, to help deepen the understanding of students studying economics at the Senior High School (SHS) and tertiary levels.
The 217-page book with 25 chapters, which had its hard copies printed in Ghana and Germany to meet both local and international publishing standards is also available online.
Dr Issahaque Munawaru, who authored the book, has 15 years’ experience teaching economics at the SHS stage and two years’ experience as a part-time Economics Lecturer.
Speaking during the launch on Tuesday, Dr Munawaru who is also the Proprietor of Education and Business Consultancy (EDUBAS CONSULT) said he started putting his teaching notes together in 2014, the year he conceived the idea of writing the Book.
The Book was written based on his determination to contribute to knowledge, simplify economics topics from meaning and scope through demand and supply to economic integration.
Dr. William Angko, a Senior Lecturer, Department of Banking and Finance, School of Business and Law, University for Development Studies (UDS), Wa campus who reviewed the Book expressed satisfaction that the Book adequately captured all essential parts of economics.
He said the language was simplified to a level that even persons without economics background could read and easily understand.
He commended Dr Munawaru for his contribution to knowledge.
About 49 copies were sold during the launch with the highest copy being bought for G,000.00 by Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, Wa Municipal Chief Executive.
