President Mahama Nominates New Batch of District Chief Executives


Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has nominated a new batch of individuals for appointment as District Chief Executives, pending approval by their respective District Assemblies.



According to Ghana News Agency, a statement signed by Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, announced that the nominations were made in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).



In the Savannah Region, Abdulai Mahmud has been nominated for Bole Bamboi. In the Bono East Region, Masud Musah Ayaaba Thomas is the nominee for Atebubu-Amantin. The Greater Accra Region has several nominations, including Ignatius Godfred Dordoe for Shai Osudoku and Samuel Tetteh Kwarshie Morton for Kpone Katamanso.



Other nominees for the Greater Accra Region are Raphael Uriel Nartey for Ningo Prampram, Freeman Tsekpo for Ashaiman, Ella Esinam Nongo for Adenta, and John Desmond Sowah Nai for Ga West. Edmund Agboh has been nominated for Ga East, while Moses Kabu Kabi Ocansey is the nominee for Ga South.



The list continues with Akwetey Agbo for Ga North, Emmanuel Adotey Allotey for Ga Central, Jerry John Foreigner Mills-Nkrumah for Ada West, and Kenneth Kabu Kanor for Ada East. Michael Mensah is the nominee for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Haruna Mohammed Awal for Ayawaso North, Rudolph Collingwoode-Williams for Ayawaso Central, and Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim for Ayawaso East.



Frank Nkansah has been nominated for Ablekuma Central, Adamu Mussah Kalamu for Ablekuma North, and George Kpakpo Allotey for Ablekuma West. Christian Tetteh Badger is nominated for Okaikwei North, and Felix Odartey Lamptey for Weija Gbawe.



Further nominations include Isreal Adjetey Otchweemah for Ledzokuku, Paul Afotey Quaye for Krowor, and Alfredos Nil Anyetel for La Dadekotopon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh is nominated for Tema West, Ebi Bright for Tema Metropolitan, and Ibrahim F. Faila for La Nkwantanang, with Michael Kpakpo Allotey nominated for Accra Metropolitan and Alfred Gaisie for Korle Klottey.
