President Mahama Nominates 40 MMDCEs for Ashanti Region


Kumasi: President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 40 individuals for appointment as district chief executives for the Ashanti Region, pending approval by their respective District Assemblies.



According to Ghana News Agency, a statement signed by Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, highlighted that the nominations were made in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).



The nominees are Akwasi Adusei for Ahafo Ano North, Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka for Ahafo Ano South East, Abubakar Sedik for Ahafo Ano South West, Mba Zechariah Alenbilla for Atwima Nwabiagya North, Wisdom Osei Boamah for Atwima Nwabiagya South, Benjamin Marfo for Amansie South, Manu Prince Morris for Amansie West, Salifu Issaka for Bekwai, and Frank Owusu Amoah for Offinso South.



Additionally, Caesar Acheampong Ofosu has been nominated for Offinso North, Rafiu Adam Seidu for Ejura Sekyedumase, Evans Amoh Twumasi for Sekyere South, Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo for Asante Akim Central, Kwasi Amankwaa for Kumawu, and Samuel Somuah for Sekyere Central.



Other nominees include Abubakar Issaka for Sekyere Afram Plains, Ibrahim Adams for Sekyere East, Joseph Amankwa for Kwabre East, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu for Juaben, Jerryne Asante for Ejisu, Emmanuel Obeng Agyemang for Odotobri, Sarah Amoakoaa for Asante Akim North, and Maame Sarfoah Appiah for Asante Akim South.



Abdullah Hamidu has been nominated for Bosomtwe, Emmanuel Jackson Agumah for Afigya Kwabre North, Pearl Patricia Ankrah for Afigya Kwabre South, Charles Kofi Ogbeh for Adansi North, Oheneba Kobena Andoh for Adansi South, Albert Dakurah for Adansi Asokwa, and Charles Appiah-Kubi for Bosome Freho.



The list continues with Faustilove Appiah Kannin for Obuasi West, Adzowu Kofi William for Obuasi East, Grace Agyemang Asamoah for Atwima Kwanwoma, Amoh Kemel for Asokwa, Gariba Mohammed Mustapha for Adansi Akrofuom, Eric Asibey for Kwadaso, Owusu Ansah Frank for Suame, Abubakar Sidiq for Tafo, Anwel Sadat Ahmed for Oforikrom, and Ben Abdallah Alhassan for Asokore Mampong.
