Prayer, Reflection Anchors Ghana’s National Renewal Agenda

Koforidua: Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, Eastern Regional Minister, has urged Ghanaians to embrace prayer and reflection as guiding principles to reset, reflect, and renew efforts in shaping Ghana’s prosperous future rather than merely inheriting it. She made the appeal during the maiden National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held at the National Cultural Centre in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Awatey addressed a gathering of worshippers, the public, and community leaders, emphasizing the importance of collective reflection and national renewal. She highlighted the need to consider past triumphs, challenges faced, and the methods used to overcome them as a pathway for achieving the purpose of Reset, Reflect and Renewal for National Prosperity.

The Minister described the newly established event as a potential cornerstone of Ghana’s national calendar, stating that it represents a symbolic reckoning with the past, a strengthening of the present, and a spiritual invocation for the nation’s future. She further encouraged the practice of moral values, describing prayer as seeds of action and the fuel that ignites a sense of duty to one another.

Mrs. Awatey expressed confidence that with a high sense of commitment and shared responsibility, God will bless the country with prosperity in resources and in spiritual well-being. She highlighted the role of key institutions, urging departments, particularly within the Education and Agriculture sectors, to strengthen their mechanisms for improvement, noting that their roles are crucial to the nation’s survival.

The event drew a wide cross-section of the public, with various denominations in attendance, including the Roman Catholic Church, Christ Apostolic Church International, Anglican Church, Methodist Church Ghana, Royal House Chapel, and By the Grace International Church. Organizers say the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving will serve as a spiritual reflection point for citizens and leadership alike, anchoring national renewal efforts in faith and moral responsibility.
