Police Station commissioned at Adaklu Wayanu

Adonai Estate Limited (AEL) has commissioned and presented an ultramodern Police Station to the Ghana Police Service at a ceremony at Adaklu Wayanu in the Adaklu District.

The GHC 450,000 facility has three well-furnished offices, a counter, washrooms, a conference room, three cells for male, female and juvenile inmates, and a spacious car park.

Dr. Archibald Letsa, Volta Regional Minister who commissioned the project said no meaningful development could take place in the country if matters of security were relegated to the background.

He intimated that matters of security should therefore be treated with utmost priority.

Dr Letsa noted that security was also a shared responsibility and therefore urged all Ghanaians to play a key role in the security of the country.

The Minister praised AEL for fulfilling its corporate responsibility to the people and urged other corporate entities to emulate them.

Dr Letsa said the Adaklu district had seen a lot of development projects and praised Mr Kwame Agbodza, Member of Parliament for the area, and Mr Phanuel Kadey Donkor, the immediate past District Chief Executive for their tireless efforts in developing the district.

He said the two most important problems now facing the district were water and roads but hinted that funding for the fourth phase of the five district water projects in the region had been secured and that the district would soon enjoy potable water.

Mr. Bright Charis Adonai, Chief Executive Officer of AEL said the private sector could support the government in building the country to reduce the country’s housing deficit.

He noted that the long-standing relationship between real estate, tourism, and hospitality was one of the motivating factors for the establishment of the Golf City View Restaurant.

Mr Adonai said security was their top priority hence their commitment to build a modern Police station to serve the airport, Wayanu, Wumenu, Takla, and Hodzo communities and commuters on the Ho – Aflao road.

He praised the leadership of the Ghana Police Service for instilling special confidence and trust in the citizenry with their services.

“From their top-notch surveillance deployment, around-the-clock investigation, and crime-fighting to their social engagements, we are confident that the presence of the Police service around here will improve security and safety,” he said.”

Sergeant Major Ebenezer Nartey, Board Chairman of AEL appealed to the person who would be working at the facility to adopt the highest level of community policing strategies to ensure a free, fair, firm but friendly police environment for the inhabitants.

“The company will continue to collaborate with the Ghana Police Service to achieve maximum security in our communities to reduce the increasing spate of insecurity in our society adding “we expect that this gesture will serve a great purpose to mark the commencement of other future donations.”

Togbe Ahiagbede, chief of Adaklu Wayanu on behalf of the landowners, appealed to the government to help develop the Kpevekor and Kokovena hills into a tourist site.
