Pastor advises clergy to prepare their congregation for heaven

Nsoatre, (B/A), Pastor Benjamin Bempong, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, on Friday urged the clergy to prepare their church members spiritually to enable them partake in the rapture.

Giving a sermon at the Easter retreat of the Church at Ayakomaso, near Nsoatre in the Sunyani West District, Pastor Bempong emphasised that the second coming of Jesus Christ was imminent and that the clergy would be answerable to God if their congregation did not partake in the rapture.

The three-day retreat on the theme “conquering with the crucified King” is being attended by more than 1,000 members and non-members drawn from the various districts, divisions and locations of the church.

Pastor Bempong emphasised that all biblical prophecies concerning the rapture had been fulfilled, it was necessary for the clergy to give prominence to the doctrine of repentance and the message of salvation.

This, he said was the surest way sinners and backsliders could reflect on and retrace their path for total restoration into the church of God.

Pastor Bempong advised Christians to celebrate the Easter in moderation, consider their ways and reconcile with God if necessary.

He said holiness and righteousness were the hallmarks of Christianity, and urged Christians to strive for entire sanctification and to enable them to live a righteous live here on earth.
