ACCRA– The police commander for Gomoa District in Central Region, about 75 kilometres west of here, Assistant Superintendent of Police Paul Ankan has cautioned that any man who impregnates a teenage girl in the area will be made to face the law.
He said Tuesday that teenage pregnancy in the area was on the rise, and that, if care was not taken, more than 50 per cent of the lives of the young girls in the district would become miserable in future.
ASP Ankan issued the warming during a community forum at Gomoa Dominase in Central Region, on the theme, Healthy Public and Police Relationship towards Development, aimed at strengthening the relationship between the police and community members, and also to share ideas on the security situation in the area.
He said it was about time unscrupulous men who impregnate the girls are advised to avoid being hauled up by the law.
Obrifo Ahunu Ahor Ankobea, the Omanhene (chief) of Agomoa Akyempim Area, urged Ghanaians to co-operate with the police to maintain law and order, and to protect lives and properties.
