Nungua Queen Mother’s Death Case Adjourned Due to Judge’s Absence

General

Accra: The case involving Samuel Adjei, who is accused of murdering a queen mother in Nungua, has been postponed to March 26. The adjournment occurred because the presiding judge was not present.

According to Ghana News Agency, Adjei faces charges of unlawful possession of firearms and murder. His plea has not yet been recorded, as the legal proceedings have been delayed.

The police are currently in the process of preparing a duplicate docket to send to the office of the Attorney General for further advice. Adjei’s arrest followed the death of Lawrencia Naa Borley Nelson, also known as Naa Gamu, a queen mother of the Ga Adangme Muslim Union. She was fatally shot during her enskinment ceremony in Nungua, Accra, when a musket fired as part of the ceremony struck her in the thigh.
