New Year Accident At Nsawam Leaves Soldiers Critically Injured

Several people have sustained serious injuries in a fatal accident at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

The accident occurred in the early hours of today, 10th January, 2019 at a spot near the Nsawam prisons on the old Accra-Kumasi Highway.

Three vehicles including a Benz Saloon car which was occupied by a Military personnel are said to be involved in the accident.

The other two vehicles are a Sprinter Bus and an urvan.

According to an eye witness who spoke to GhanaNewsPage.Com, the sprinter bus which has some passengers on board was heading towards Accra while the Benz Saloon car was driving towards Nsawam.

He could not tell the direction the Urvan Bus was heading but it is believed a reckless driving on the part of one of the drivers led to the accident.

Some passengers who are being rescued from the three vehicles and being rushed to the hospital, he said, are unconscious with some fearing that they might lose their lives.

As at the time of filing this report, a Fire Service truck had arrived at the scene to help with the rescue mission.
