ACCRA, The new members of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) Board of Directors, chaired by Professor Olivia Adwoa Tiwaah Frimpong Kwapong, will be sworn into office on Thursday.

The other members of the board are Dr Sara Akrofi Quarcoo, Charles Acheampong, Kofi Boakye, Ellen Avorgbedor, Dr Kwame Nyamekye, Albert Sam and the General Manager of the national news agency, according to a statement from the National Media Commission (NMC) here.

Prof Kwapong holds a PhD from the University of Ghana. She studied as a special doctoral candidate at Harvard University in the United States, and is currently a lecturer at the Institute of Continuing Education at the University of Ghana.

She has worked for both governmental and non-governmental organizations for the empowerment of women and her studies have focused on areas of gender and development, information communication technology and open and distance learning.
