West Mamprusi: The West Mamprusi Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has embarked on a community outreach initiative aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and national cohesion within the region. This effort is part of a broader strategy to encourage development by fostering harmony among residents.

According to Ghana News Agency, the initiative sought to address and resolve tensions that arose during last year’s general election, urging community members to channel their energies towards contributing positively to national development. The NCCE’s outreach visited several communities, including Wungu, Bulbia, Zua, Yama, Diibsi, Kpasenkpe, Sareba, Duu Silinga, Wulugu, and Walewale Market.

Mr. Thomas Imoro Issahaku, the West Mamprusi Municipal Director of NCCE, led the team in engaging with community members through face-to-face meetings and public announcements. He emphasized the importance of unity and encouraged those who felt aggrieved by past events to accept apologies and move forward. Mr. Issahaku highlighted that the development of Ghana would benefit all citizens and stressed the need for collaborative efforts post-election.

He also called on the victorious party in the elections to include members from various backgrounds to ensure inclusive development efforts. Furthermore, he advised against discrimination towards minority ethnic groups, underscoring the need to prevent discord within the communities.

The outreach included contributions from other NCCE officials, such as Madam Salifu Zeinab and Mr. Mohammed Alhassan, both Chief Field Officers, along with Madam Ubeidatu Abubakari, who echoed the sentiments of unity and cooperation.
