MTN Celebrates newly born babies in Wa

Wa – MTN-Ghana has presented baby hampers to mothers who delivered on Christmas day at the Wa Regional Hospital to enable them celebrate the Christmas.

Mr Seth Owusu Nyantakyi, the Upper West branch manager of MTN who presented the items to mothers of the babies said the initiative was the first of its kind in the region and assured that the company would make it an annual event to benefit others in the region.

He said the hampers contained baby soap, pomade, powder, some soft drinks, dippers and some kid clothes.

Mr Nyantakyi said the gesture was part of MTN’s cooperate social responsibility to give back to society as a company operating in Ghana since the desire of the company was to put smiles on people’s faces.

He said MTN was currently the best mobile network in Ghana in terms of delivering quality coverage, mobile money transaction, mobile data and other services.

Madam Helen Tuunaa speaking on behalf of the recipients expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for the gesture and pleaded that the company helped to end the no bed syndrome in the Wa regional hospital.

He said MTN was a leading tele- communication network among other mobile network companies in Ghana because the introduction of MTN mobile money alone opened up businesses among people especially women.

I want to thank MTN for the gesture since this is the first time I have ever experienced such love from an organization, but I will plead with MTN to assist the maternity ward of the hospital with beds if it has the capacity to help she said.

In all about 30 women who delivered on 25th December were given gift as a token from MTN to celebrate their children.
