MoYS refers Commonwealth Games visa malpractice to National Security
Accra, – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), has referred the allegations of malpractices in visa acquisition in connection with Ghana’s preparation in the ongoing 21st Commonwealth Games in Australia to the national security.
It has been reported that some Ghanaians purported to be sports journalist have been detained and some stranded in Australia for the Commonwealth Games as a result of visa fraud and visa malpractices that has left some already deported to Ghana.
In a release copied to GNA Sports, the sports Ministry has officially requested the National Security to thoroughly investigate circumstances leading to the acquisition of visas by underserving persons who are in no way connected with the ongoing 21st Commonwealth Games in Australia.
According to the release some inappropriate actions by some individuals has led to some Ghanaians being denied the necessary courtesies when travelling to Australia in connection with the Commonwealth Games.
The Ministry believes the National Security has the capacity to unravel the truth surrounding the unpleasant situation Ghana finds herself among the comity of sporting nations.
