Ministry warns farmers not to use Rockstar insecticide

Accra- The Ministry of Food and Agriculture has warned the public, especially Cocoa Farmers that it had not authorised the sale of Rockstar (Bifenthrin 2.5 EC), an insecticide made in china.

A statement signed by Dr Gyiele Nurah, the Minister of State in charge of Agriculture and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the insecticide had not been tested by the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana, and therefore not registered by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Ministry warns against any further use of the insecticide and advises all farmers to desist from its use, the statement added.
