Manhyia Palace Hosts 29th GJA Awards

Kumasi: The stage is set for the celebration of the 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, to be held at Manhyia, the seat of the Asante Kingdom in Kumasi. This year's prestigious event will honour more than 30 outstanding journalists from various media organisations across the country for their exceptional contributions to the profession.

According to Ghana News Agency, the awards ceremony is being held under the distinguished patronage of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene. The event is themed 'Safeguarding Ghana's Future: The Role of the Media in Promoting Peace, Security, and the Fight Against Galamsey.' This theme underscores the critical responsibility of the media in fostering a peaceful and secure environment while addressing the pressing issue of illegal mining, known locally as 'galamsey.'

The GJA Awards are a significant occasion in the Ghanaian media landscape, recognizing and celebrating the pivotal role journalists play in shaping national discourse.
