In appreciation of the immense contributions of its partners to the development and success of the tourism and hospitality industries, JumiaTravel, Africa’s leading online hotel booking website, has held an awards ceremony in Accra.
In all, eight hotels, including Alisa Hotel, City Hotel, Royal Richester and Oak Plaza, and four media houses received recognition for the various forms of contributions to the industry.
Speaking at the Jumia Travei Annual Conference and Awards ceremony on Friday, Ms Claire Staal, Managing Director of Jumia Travel Ghana, disclosed that Jumai Travel would embark on a programme of enhancing the industry’s growth through the organization of workshops, tours and other packages such as ‘Black Friday’, with the sole aim of promoting the concept of “Happy customers. Happy Hotels”
Ms Staal disclosed that Jumia Travel was, currently, working in partnership with 200,000 hotels worldwide, 25,000 hotels in Africa and 1,045 in Ghana.
According the Jumia Travel M.D., the company had, over the past three years, made a name for itself as the One-Stop-Destination for top hotel transactions, amazing discounts and best hotel rates.
She said the company had also made giant strides in technological services by providing hotels with an application that allowed hotel mangers to confirm bookings, change rates and change the availability of their hotel rooms.
Activities that formed part of the event included an extranet application training and musical performances by the Ghana Kizomba family, Jay Hutton and Tijani Pepe.
