Dan Quaye, a Hearts of Oak legend has criticized the club following their decision to part ways with the head coach of the side, Samuel Boadu.
Boadu, who joined the club from Medeama SC has been shown the exit after a poor start to the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
After three games played, the Phobians sit 13th on the league log with just two points.
Reacting to the decision to sack Boadu who won treble in his first season with the club, the former Black Stars defender believes the timing was very wrong to sack the coach and has dubbed it a very huge mistake.
“Is a very big mistake to sack Samuel Boadu at this time because he did the preseason and most of the players went on national assignment. Some players to have left, new players have come in,” he told Fish FM.
“It is someone who doesn’t know football that will tell you the coach isn’t good because he hasn’t won a game in his opening three games or maybe some people want to just sabotage the coach.
“I have played football before, having returned from the preseason it will take four-five matches before you settle and get on with match fitness.
“Some leaders are in the team in their interest and if I were Togbe, would have sacked all of them. When Zarkor was there, why didn’t they come? Those leaders understood the game that’s why we’re to achieve what we did,” concluded.
