The newly elected General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has indicated his readiness to work with all the party’s regional chairmen despite campaigning against him.
This was after Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti regional chairman was reported to have whipped all regional chairmen to openly declare their support for the then incumbent John Boadu.
Justin Kodua surprisingly defeated the incumbent John Boadu to become the next General Secretary of the NPP.
However, Mr. Frimpong Koduah, speaking on the Accra-based Adom FM on Monday, July 18, 2022, monitored by Modernghana News, indicated that he needs his regional chairmen to come on board to fight for a common goal.
“I need them [ the regional chairmen] more than they need me to be able to have a successful administration,” noted.
He further explained that there is no need to hold grudges against anybody because the mandate given to him should be used to bring the party together and not break it apart.
Justin Kodua won with 313 votes difference.
He polled 2,837 votes, with John Boadu trailing behind him with 2,524 votes.
