Ho marks 73rd Remembrance Day

Ho- A solemn ceremony to commemorate the 73rd Remembrance Day in honour of heroes who died in the first and second World wars was held in Ho, Volta Regional capital on Sunday.

A total of 240 officers and men drawn from 66 Artillery Regiment, the Police, Fire Service, Immigration, Prisons and the Customs Excise and Preventive Service Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority were on parade with a contingent from the Veteran Association of Ghana (VAG).

The Binyon verse was read by WO1, William Wagba of VAG after which a minute silence was observed for the departed souls.

Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister laid the first wreath on behalf of President Nana AddoDankwaAkufo-Addo and the people of the Republic of Ghana.

Three other wreaths were laid on behalf of the Security Services, Chiefs and people of the Volta region and on behalf of VAG.

The short event attracted heads of decentralised Departments and Agencies, chiefs and some religious leaders.
