Hearts of Oak: Don’t be shy to return to home – Samuel Inkoom urges fellow Ghanaian players

Hearts of Oak defender, Samuel Inkoom has urged Ghanaian footballers plying their trades outside to consider returning to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) if things are not going well.

The former U-20 World Cup winner mentioned that, it is very prudent to come back to where you started since that same league paved the way to travel overseas.

“I always say something to a lot of players to come back to where you started, don’t feel shy. I played Ghana League before I travelled. Is it the same Ghana league that gave me the platform so when you are coming back, why do you have to feel shy?,” Inkoom told Accra based Angel FM.

“I was in Georgia, I just finished my contract in December last year and I am back home and I said I want to play Ghana league. I am also coming to the league to motivate the young ones and encourage them that if they play well, they can also get themselves somewhere,” he added.

Inkoom after left the shores of Ghana after a successful campaign for Asante Kotoko in 2009. He has played in Portugal, Turkey, Greece, US, Bulgaria.

His last stint was with Georgian side Torpedo Kutaisi in the 2021/2022 season.

The 32-year-old right back joined Hearts of Oak on a year-deal in April after impressing the technical team, and has already played in two games for the Phobians.
