Hearts keen on investing in its future, despite challenges

Accra,- Togbe Afede XIV, Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited, has said, the club is keen on investing in its future, despite the challenging conditions prevailing in Ghana.

He said the Board of Directors have plans to invest in the recruitment of more qualified and professional hands, to help modernise the club.

Speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the club on Wednesday said, the board has seen the need to recruit more qualified and professional hands to help modernize the club, with the introduction of Mr. Noonan and other incoming hands.

The club is also on course of building its training and hostel facility at Pobiman to house its youth teams, with two or more pitches of international standards.”

On the finances of the club, the Board Chairman noted that the clubs’ total assets stood at GH721,827 about 4% higher than the 2015/2016 financial year, with income increased by 43%, but the club had an increase in its liability by 38.5% from G1,830.495 at the end of 2015/2016 to G6,382,640 at the end of 2016/2017.

He mentioned that as Board and Management consistently pushes harder every year to achieve its goals of directing and leading the club to win the Ghana Premier League and other titles, where the club’s approach to the 2016/2017 season was geared towards that dream, but failed to do so.
