The evolution of technology has paved the way for so much innovation to the extent that there are technology solutions that provide answers to almost everything under the sun, Mr Asher Khan, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Ghana has noted.
Mr Khan, who was delivering the key note address at the launch, in Accra, yesterday, of Garmin Health Wrist Watch and a range of Wearable Tech Activity-Tracking solutions, said the launch was a collaboration between the network provider, Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) Ghana; Izione, the key distributor of the watches in the Greater Accra region; and Garmin, the manufacturer of the watches.
He said the partnership with Garmin and Izione was significant because it brought MTN’s digital agenda to life, adding that to encourage the use of the Garmin Health Wrist Watch, MTN customers would enjoy 300 MB Data each month for three months for the Garmin Connect APP.
The Garmin Health Wrist Watch technology, the latest innovation in the telecommunications industry and in the watch manufacturing sector, which runs on internet data, measures one’s heart beat rate at one’s wrist and allows one to track one’s sleep pattern.
The wearable watches are smart devices that pair with one’s phone to display personal data, text messages and emails on one’s phone.
The launch comes with a campaign, dubbed: #Beat Yesterday the Garmin Way with MTN.
In a presentation, Mr Mike Clarke, Africa Business Development Manager, Garmin, sub-Saharan Africa, said the wearable health wrist watches were products with built-in activity trackers to track, monitor and record dally activities and motivate its customers towards healthier lifestyles.
