Hariri receives Ghana’s Vice President

Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri received today at the Center House the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia, and the accompanying delegation. They discussed bilateral relations and the role of Ghana’s battalion in UNIFIL.

After the meeting, Bawumia said: We came to Lebanon to visit our armed forces who are peacekeepers. They have been here for 40 years, and no president or vice president of Ghana has come to see them. This is what is happening this time. The UN is giving medals tomorrow on the occasion of Independence day to the Ghanaian troops in the South. I came to be a guest at the ceremony. I cannot come here without visiting the leaders of this beautiful country, so I visited the President this morning, the Prime Minister now, and I will also see the Speaker so that I can help build close relationships between the government of Ghana and the government of Lebanon.

Hariri also received MPs Wael Abu Faour and Hadi Abou Hassan, and discussed with them the political developments in the country.
