Accra- The Premier League Board (PLB) has announced the postponement of the match day 13 and 14 of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League to pave for the clearance of certain outstanding matches.
The decision by the PLB was done in consultation with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure the simultaneous progress of the ongoing league as well as making room for the African Youth Championship two-legged qualifier between Ghana and Algeria to be played on the 11th and 20th, May 2018.
A statement signed by the Deputy General Secretary of the GFA said, ”The GFA in consultation with the PLB has postponed match 13 and 14 of the ongoing Ghana 2017/18 GPL to enable some outstanding matches to be played and also make room for the African Youth Championship match between Algeria and Ghana to played in Algeria and Ghana on 11th and 20th May respectively.
”It’s the wish of the GFA that all outstanding matches would be cleared before the second round resumes. Sorry for any inconvenience the change might cause.”
Dreams FC occupy top spot in the Ghana Premier League followed by AshantiGold, Medeama and Sharks who make up the top four with former Premier League Champions Wa All Stars languishing at the bottom of the league table.
