Accra: Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson announced that the Government is committed to considering all criticisms from the 2025 Budget commentaries in Parliament. Dr. Forson emphasized that the Budget aims to address socio-economic challenges with innovative solutions, focusing on creating a conducive environment for business growth, job creation, and support for the vulnerable.
According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Forson, in his concluding remarks after the two-week parliamentary commentary, stated that the budget is designed to revitalize the nation and improve citizens’ living conditions. He stressed the importance of parliamentary support for effective execution of the budget.
The Minister also highlighted the government’s intent to align the IMF programme and ensure full implementation of its benchmarks and criteria. Despite the Central Bank’s negative equity, Dr. Forson affirmed its capability to perform essential monetary policy functions.
Reiterating fiscal targets, Dr. Forson mentioned goals such as four per cent economic growth, 11.9% minimum inflation rate, and maintaining at least three months of foreign reserves import cover. He urged the Parliament to prioritize the consideration of 21 bills essential for economic recovery.
