Gomoa East NDC: I Will Help To Make Asemanyin A One Term MP – Former MP

The only two term former MP of Gomoa East constituency in the Central Region Hon. Ekow Panyin has sent a strong warning to the NPP sitting MP of the constituency about his readiness to team up with his party the NDC to defeat him come 2020.

The former MP said this in a short interview with the media after an inauguration program organized by the NDC to outdoor some working committees in the constituency over the weekend.

The former MP initially maintained reticence in commenting on the performance of the incumbent NPP MP, but when pushed further by journalist Hon Ekow Panyin pointed out that the abysmal performance of Hon Asemanyin so far does not warrant a second term. ‘ I feel it is proper not to subject his performance to strict scrutiny now but do so when he is in his fourth year. I will hold him to strict accountability on his stewardship in both parliament and constituency but considering the plight of the constituents and physical development in the constituency currently the Hon. MP does not deserve a second term.’

The former legislator opined that knowledge from hindsight indicates that in ‘Gomoa East an MP aspirant is usually defeated internally by his own delegates before he or she goes into the parliamentary elections to be defeated by his major contender. Though the NPP seem to be hesitant now in defeating Hon Asemanyin but I will force his internal defeat even before we go into the general elections’.

The inauguration program however attracted seasoned party bigwigs from National, Regional and sister constituencies. The speakers at the inaugural ceremony took turns to address the gathering on various issues key amongst them include, the need for party Unity, hardwork, dedication and as well some topical abysmal performances of the Nana Addo – Bawumia led administration and the need for these committee members to work harder in snatching power from the NPP come 2020.

Some of the committees inaugurated include, Women working committee, Finance and Logistics committee, Youth working committee, Research committee, Communication working committee, etc.

The occasion was used to as well raise some funding to support party activities in the constituency towards victory 2020.
