Fires continue to be a nationwide menace threatening the very development of our nation. Every year a number of lives, industries, markets, homes, and businesses are lost painfully to these fires.
The high rate of fire outbreaks most especially in the Accra Region is a concern to all Ghanaians. Though the Accra Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service is doing its best in preventing and managing these fires, the collective role of the public is crucial.
It is in this light that the Accra Regional Command is intensifying its Fire Safety Campaign to prevent fire outbreaks or to bring the numbers recorded in the region to the barest minimum before, during, and after the Easter Season.
In view of ensuring that the general public remains fire safety conscious as we celebrate the Easter festivities, the Accra Regional Fire Commander, DCFO Alhaji Gibril Nuhu, the second-in-command of Accra Region, DO I Naomi Ofori-Adubea, the Regional Safety Officer, DO I Evans Osei Owusu, and the District Fire Officer of the Accra Regional Substation, DO I Alfred Quartey shared fire safety messages to the general public.
