Half-Assini (W/R), Forty-four people, including children, were on Holy Saturday baptised into the Half-Assini St Patrick Catholic Church in the Western Region.
They were made up of eight males and 36 females.
Reverend Father Michael Owusu, the Parish Priest, baptised them during the Holy Saturday vigil mass.
The more than 400 worshippers who attended the service were dressed in white to signify their joy as Christ sacrificed His life for their sins to be forgiven.
Rev. Owusu, in a homily, said it was through the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ that the Church welcomed the new members and urged them to let the resurrection light shine in their lives.
He said since Jesus Christ died and resurrected, all of his followers would equally have the power to resurrect.
The occasion was also to enable the parishioners to renew their baptismal faith.
