Dambai: Fish sellers in the Dambai Market in Krachi East Municipality are appealing for better shelters to protect them from the harsh weather conditions. The vendors, who spend long hours selling fish at the market, are exposed to the scorching sun and heavy rains, posing serious health risks.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Jenfuah Akosua Abresseh, a fish seller, stated that the lack of adequate shelter had exposed them to health issues such as heat-related illnesses, skin irritations, and respiratory problems. She expressed frustration over the lack of adequate shelter, despite paying revenue to support the Municipal Assembly’s development projects.
Madam Abresseh said the authorities had neglected their plight, leaving them exposed to the harsh weather conditions. She felt that their contributions had not been recognized, and their needs ignored.
The sellers urged the authorities to provide them with better infrastructure to improve their working conditions and environment for their trade.
