ECOWAS Court’s New Leadership Welcomes Nigerian Student Leaders.

Abuja: The new leadership of the Community Court of Justice, ECOWAS, President Ricardo Cláudio Monteiro Gonçalves and Vice President Sengu Mohamed Koroma, have received a delegation from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), who paid a courtesy visit to the Court. In his remarks, President Gonçalves expressed his appreciation for the visit, while also emphasising the significant role of young people in shaping the future.

According to Ghana News Agency, the student delegation, led by Comrade Joy Mimidoo Gundu, congratulated the recently elected leadership of the Court and reaffirmed NANS’ longstanding support for the Court’s mandate to uphold justice and human rights within West Africa. Comrade Gundu, representing NANS President Comrade Lucky Emonefe, commended the new leadership for their commitment to justice and rule of law. She stressed the importance of the ECOWAS Court as custodian of democratic principles and human rights.

On his part, Vice President Koroma also thanked NANS represent
atives for the visit. He underscored the importance of youth involvement in achieving ECOWAS objectives. This meeting sets the tone for partnership between the ECOWAS Court and young advocates to advance justice and human rights in West Africa.
