Construction Work on 15-Kilometer Road Begins to Connect Communities in Berekum Municipality


Berekum: Mr Joseph Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, has performed a groundbreaking ceremony to commence construction on a 15-kilometer road in the Berekum Municipality. Fonasa Company Limited will undertake this project, which aims to connect the communities of Mpatabo, Nyametease, Kyiribaa, and Kato.

According to Ghana News Agency, the project is scheduled for completion within 12 months and includes the construction of drainage systems and the tarring of the Biadan-Senase stretch. Mr Akwaboa emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure as a means to foster economic development in the region. He urged residents to maintain their trust in the government’s initiatives.

Upon completion, Mr Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament for Berekum East Constituency, stated that the road would significantly benefit local businesses by improving access to urban markets. He encouraged local communities to cooperate with the contractor and emphasized the importance of quality workma
nship.

Hajia Fatimatu Abubakar, the Berekum Municipal Chief Executive, expressed gratitude to the government for the project’s execution. She highlighted the government’s role in supporting women’s agricultural activities, noting that the road would facilitate better market access for women farmers and their produce.
