Communities benefiting from toilet facilities

Kenyasi No.’2′ The Asutifi North District Assembly is constructing a 10-seater water closet facility and 10 bathrooms for the Prisons Service at Kenyasi at the cost of GH175,846.65.

Mr Anthony Agyei Mensah, the Asutifi North District Chief Executive (DCE) who made this known to newsmen at Kenyasi, said the projects are being financed from the Assembly’s Minerals Development Fund.

He said apart from these facilities, six Limited Mechanised Systems (solar-powered boreholes) were being constructed at Wamahinso, Gambia No. ‘2’, Kenyasi No. ‘1’, Biaso, Obengkrom and Gambia No. ‘1’, adding that the projects were being implemented under the Assembly’s WASH Coverage Initiative.

Mr Mensah said the residents of Goamu Koforidua were benefiting from the construction of a 16-seater aqua-privy toilet facility at the cost of GH201,110.

The DCE said the facilities were at various stages of construction and charged the beneficiary communities to take good care of them when completed.
