Cleaner in police custody over alleged possession of “Wee”

Accra- An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a cleaner into police custody for allegedly possessing quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp also known as Wee.

Kwesi Appiah pleaded not guilty to the offence and he is to make his next appearance on September 13.

Meanwhile, the Court presided over by Mrs Afi Agbanu Kudormor has ordered that the exhibit be sent to the Forensic Laboratory for examination.

Police Inspector Samuel Ahiabor narrated that the Prosecution witness is Inspector James Acquah.

Appiah was arrested on August 22, at Adenta in Accra, during a routine check by a police patrol team of which Inspector Acquah was part.

He and other passengers were stopped on board a vehicle and the team found a black polythene bag containing the quantity of leaves suspected to be Wee.

Appiah was arrested and after investigation, he was arraigned.
