As Christians celebrate Christmas in this last month of the year 2022, an advocate of cyber security, Mr. Rotimi Onadipe has advised all internet users to be careful of what they post or share on social media.

Mr. Onadipe made the statement at a weekly awareness campaign on cyber security which took place at Internet Safety Magazine Office, Ibadan on Saturday, December 24, 2022.

According to him, the festive season is a time when many internet users want to be online to enjoy Christmas activities around the world.

He indicated that it is also a time that internet users need to be very careful of what they share or post on social media to prevent online dangers.

The cyber security advocate said: “As we enjoy Christmas and send messages to our friends and family members, please let’s remember to avoid dangerous activities on social media.

“Don’t share a news because it is trending. Before you share any post with anyone or any group on social media during this festive season, verify the source of the information to confirm it’s not a fake or misleading information.

“Never share or post any information that poses a threat to other people’s lives. More importantly, don’t share pictures, videos or other details about your trip or travel plans on social media to avoid becoming a victim of kidnapping.”

“Remember that in most cases, you are responsible for any information you post or share with anybody or group so, always think twice and verify before you share,” Onadipe added.
