Kenpong Academy signs partnership deal with Danish Premier League side Sønderjyske


Prominent business mogul and football administrator, Kennedy Agyepong, popularly known as Kenpong, has embarked on a mission to establish his football academy’s presence in the European market.

Kenpong has invested significant sums into the state-of-the-art Kenpong Academy, located in Winneba. With an expatriate trainer and several competent hands on board, the academy has begun developing top-quality young players.

He aims to elevate the academy by partnering with European clubs that are ready to engage in business in Ghana and assist in nurturing the great talent that Kenpong Academy is producing.

This quest for European expansion has led to a partnership with the newly promoted Danish Premier League side, Sønderjyske.

Kenpong embarked on a trip to Denmark, where he met with Sønderjyske Club CEO/President Markus Kristoffer Hansen to forge an ambitious partnership agreement.

According to the agreement, Kenpong Academy will become a feeder club, developing players for the Danish team.

During his visit,
Kenpong was delighted to meet Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, along with the Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Tom Norring; Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Sylvia Annoh; and the Majority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin. The President and his entourage exchanged social pleasantries with Kenpong and the Sønderjyske CEO in Denmark.

President Nana Akufo-Addo highlighted Ghana’s abundant football talent and expressed excitement over Kenpong’s initiative to support the youth. He pledged his backing for foreign clubs investing in Ghana and encouraged Sønderjyske to collaborate with Kenpong Academy.

“We are thrilled to further expand our connections with Europe, and with this new, exciting partnership, the academy is set to grow by leaps and bounds,” Kenpong stated.

Kenpong also expressed gratitude to Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Madam Sylvia Annoh, for her warm hospitality.

Kennedy Agyepong revealed that, as part of the Sønderjyske deal, a team from Kenpong Academy will travel to Denmark at least on
ce a year to participate in a soccer tournament, providing the players with exposure to the best Europe has to offer.

The unrelenting Kenpong is leveraging his experience to secure more deals for his academy, promising that additional announcements will be made in due course.
