Ibrahim Osman, Christopher Bonsu Baah make top 100 list for 2024 Golden Boy Award


Ghanaian duo, Ibrahim Osman and Christopher Bonsu Baah have been included in the top 100 list for the 2024 Golden Boy Award.

The FC Nordsjaelland and KRC Genk players have been in fine form for their clubs this season, earning them a place in the Golden Boy award ranking.

Osman, who is set to join Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, has been ranked 41st while Baah-Bonsu sits in 60th position.

The Genk forward is making the list for the second year running.

Osman has scored seven goals and provided six assists across all competitions for FC Nordsjaelland this season while Bonsu Baah has netted three times in 41 matches.

Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal leads the ranking with English-Ghanaian Kobbie Mainoo in the top ten.

Illiah Akhomach of Morocco is the highest-ranked African player on the list, sitting in 20th position.

The Golden Boy Award is given to players plying their trades in Europe and are below the age of 21.

During the visit, Samira showered praises on the actor for embarking on a movie project that will help revitalize the creative arts industry and improve upon its fortunes.

She stated that it excites her when people take it upon themselves to create things that will aid society and entertain the general public to make an impact.

In a video sighted by GhanaWeb on Zionfelix’s Instagram page, Samira was full of praise for Kyekyeku for his exploits in the movie industry.

‘Let me congratulate you [Kyekyeku] for the good work you are doing. I must commend you for this. Coming this far means you have made something out of nothing. This is a lifelong relationship I want you to have with me. I love the creativity. I have a passion for things like this. I appreciate you for the good work you are doing,’ she said.

Kyekyeku
who was elated expressed his utmost appreciation to Samira for accepting his visit request and making time to engage them.

‘Thank you for accepting us. I am even blushing.’

Kyekyeku’s movie titled ‘1957’ was recently premiered in Kumasi and attracted a massive crowd, with several celebrities gracing the occasion.

It remains to be seen how the Accra premiering edition will pan out.

Kaka: Why ‘too perfect’ Brazilian star lost his marriage in 2015


Kaka’s ex-wife, Caroline Celico, has revealed she divorced the AC Milan legend because she believed him to be ‘too perfect’ for her.

Despite being childhood sweethearts and having two children together, Celico and Kaka ultimately decided to end their marriage after a decade. She claims that she felt there was “something missing” in their relationship because the Brazilian icon was “too perfect.” They divorced in 2015 and have both since remarried.

On the reason for their divorce, Celico said, according to The Sun: “Kaka never betrayed me, he treated me well, he gave me a wonderful family, but I was not happy, something was missing. The problem was, he was too perfect for me.”

Kaka was almost ‘too perfect’ a footballer as well. The Brazilian playmaker played for Sao Paulo, AC Milan, Real Madrid and Orlando City, as well as winning 92 caps for Brazil throughout a glittering career. He was in his pomp at AC Milan, winning both the Champions League and Ballon d’Or in Italy, before moving to Real Madrid, where
he had mixed success.

Kaka started dating his current partner, Carolina Dias, in 2017. The pair have a daughter together. The 41-year-old also announced they were engaged earlier this year and will be planning their wedding.

Danny List Foundation sets roadmap towards first-ever golf academy in West Africa


Danny List Foundation on Sunday, held a Junior Golf Clinic for young golfers in Accra.

Danny List, who is a professional golf player in the United States is keen on unearthing talents through its golf academy project.

Over 60 young golfers were taken through the basics of golf at the Achimota Golf Driving Range.

The golfer speaking in an interview with the GNA Sports said the clinic was part of the activities laid down to provide opportunities for the kids.

‘Ghana golf has all the talents in the world, all it lacks is opportunity. The total aim of this foundation is to give everyone here in Ghana equal opportunity to their counterparts in the states,’ he said.

He said the foundation had secured land for a state of the art golf academy, the first of its kind in West Africa.

‘This would be a place kids will play for free, they would get the training they need, there will be a gym, there will be everything possible to be successful in golf,’ he added.

According to him, work would soon begin work to get th
e academy ready in the coming months.

Madam Angela List, co-founder of the foundation also noted expressed excitement having seen kids excited to learn the sport.

She said the academy would help give young golfers the opportunity to showcase their talents to the rest of the world.

The Danny List Foundation was launched last year.

NSA endorses ‘Show Case’ of Africa nations tournament


Mr. Dodzie Numekevor, the Director General (D-G) of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has endorsed ‘Show Case’ of Africa nations tournament scheduled to take place at the Madina astro turf on Saturday, 20th April 2024.

The event under the auspices of the S-Inkoom Football Management Agency, owned by the former Black Stars player, Samuel Inkoom.

Mr. Inkoom announced this when he paid a working visit to the D-G to officially invite him as a Special Guest for the tournament.

The D-G assured Mr. Inkoom that his team would support the initiative, adding that, he would be present with his management members to grace the tournament.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Inkoom explained that the aim of the competition was to offer opportunities to talented players between the ages of 17 and 21 to exhibit their God given talents.

He said on that the day of the competition, there would scouts from foreign clubs to observe it.

The event was recently launched in Accra, at a very colourful ceremony.

Emmanuel Danso: Watch highlights of the player described by Kudus as the ‘next big star’


Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus mentioned Emmanuel Danso as the best player he has ever played with.

According to Kudus, despite playing alongside some brilliant players at Ajax and West Ham United, Danso is the most outstanding player he has ever played with.

‘I played with him way from Ghana in the academy when I was growing up. He is one of the best players I have played with. I have played with a lot of players; there is a lot you know from here (West Ham) and Ajax, but he is the one,’ he told Sky Sports.

Kudus is also optimistic that Danso will be the next big star in European football.

Danso started his career at Sporting Club in Accra during his academy days in Ghana before departing to Europe in 2019.

He secured a transfer to join the youth side of French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon, where he spent three seasons.

He could not get promoted to the first team and sought a transfer to join Norwegian side Stromsgodset in 2022.

He penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with the third-tier side a
nd will be out of contract in 2025.

Emmanuel Danso is a central midfielder with great passing ability. He uses both feet and has excellent defensive awareness, making him dominant in games.
