It’s better for Hearts of Oak play with empty post than use Richard Attah – Charles Taylor

Former Hearts of Oak player Charles Taylor has lashed out at the team’s goalkeeper, Richard Attah, for his poor form recently.

The multiple Ghana Premier League and CAF Champions League winner believes it is better for Hearts of Oak to play with an empty post than use Richard Attah during games.

Hearts of Oak are enduring a difficult run of games at the moment, losing four of their last five games.

The club has also been chopping and changing its goalkeepers, with no consistency being shown in every department of the team for the past two seasons.

The outspoken Charles Taylor tore into Richard Attah, who was out of shape at the start of the season and had to make frantic efforts to get back in shape and reclaim his position.

‘When we are talking about housework issues, we don’t hate anyone. The form you are in is not good work on it,’ Taylor told Angel TV.

‘I don’t like the kind of goalkeeping Attah is doing. I feel it is better when they are playing on an empty post. I’ve said it all. I am done.’

RTU coach Abdul Mumin suspended over match-fixing allegation

Real Tamale United (RTU) coach, Abdul Mumin Abdulai, has been asked to step aside amid match-fixing allegations.

The decision follows a wave of discontent among fans, who voiced concerns about the coach’s conduct after RTU’s disappointing 2-1 loss at home to Nsoatreman FC on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

RTU took the lead in the first half through Mankuyeli Mohammed in the 28th minute.

However, the visitors turned the game on its head after an own goal and an injury-time strike by Collins Kudjoe completed the comeback.

The supporters, incensed by the defeat, attributed the loss to what they perceived as questionable substitutions made by the coach.

These substitutions were believed to have weakened the team and provided an advantage to Nsoatreman.

Abdul Mohammed, the Public Relations Officer for RTU, revealed to Akoma Sports, “As you know we were the first team to score and when we came back for the second half, after some 10 to 15 minutes before they could equalize the goal. What happened was that some subst
itutions were made and immediately after the substitutions, they got the opportunity to equalise the goal.”

Responding to the supporters’ outcry, coach Abdulai has been temporarily relieved of his duties, with an assistant coach overseeing training sessions while investigations are conducted.

Currently positioned at the bottom of the league table with 25 points after 27 games, RTU faces an uphill battle in their upcoming fixture against league leaders FC Samartex.
