Caretaker Minister of National Defense, Maurice Sleem, on Monday met at his office in Yarze, with United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka.
Caretaker Minister Sleem affirmed “Lebanon’s adherence to international resolutions, especially Resolution 1701,” underlining the importance of maintaining stability in the south in light of the close cooperation between the army and the “UNIFIL”.
On the other hand, Sleem met in his office with Ghanaian Deputy Defense Minister, Kofi Amankwa Manu, in the presence of Ghanaian Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Seth Amoama, and an accompanying delegation.
Minister Sleem hailed the role played by the Ghanaian contingent operating within UNIFIL since 1978, appreciating their sacrifices carrying out their tasks in maintaining security and stability in the south.
For his part, Ghana’s Deputy Defense Minister highlighted his country’s constant policy in strengthening and developing Lebanese-Ghanaian relations in all fields.
