News

Ghana Premier League champions, Asante Kotoko have been eliminated from the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League.

The team nicked the Porcupine Warriors today hosted Cameroonian outfit RC Kadiogo at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the second leg fixture of the first round of the preliminary stages of the competition.

Prior to today’s game, Asante Kotoko had defeated the opponent 1-0 at the end of the first leg staged in Benin last Monday.

Hoping to record another win today to see off the opponent, things, unfortunately, did not go as planned for the Ghanaian club.

RC Kadiogo defeated the Reds 1-0 at the end of 90 minutes of the contest before going on to secure a 3-1 win after the penalty shootout.

The victory from 12 yards has seen the team from Cameroon eliminating Asante Kotoko from the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League.

Asante Kotoko needs to get over the disappointing result and focus on games in the Ghana Premier League.
