Accra, Ghana’s under-17 football team, the Black Starlets returned home today from India after reaching the quarter final of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) world cup in India.
The Black Starlets’ world cup dreams was cut short at the quarter final stage when they were defeated 2-1 by another African side, Mali.
Coach of the side, Paa Kwesi Fabin on arrival at the airport, thanked Ghanaians for the support and praised his team for their efforts.
“We want to thank Ghanaians for their support, if wishes were horses, beggars will ride them, we fell out in the quarter-finals but my boys did well,” the former Hearts of Oak and Kotoko coach said.
The team is expected to break camp to allow them to spend time with family members following close to five months of camping.
