Black Panther film breaks record in movie industry

Accra- Mr Gilbert K. Bouhairie the Interfaith Coordinator for the Pan African Historical Theatre Project has stated that the Black Panther film a Hollywood movie has broken records in the film industry.

The black panther movie premiered in January 2018 talks about what it means to be black person in both America and Africa and also focus on issues affecting modern-day black life.

Mr Bouhairie said the movie has caused African Americans to be proud and excited about Africa being depicted as a mighty wealthy intelligent and advanced royal nation rather than the traditional aspersions of a poor and diseased infested nation.

Mr Bouhairie also the Founder of ‘the God Box Foundation’ said this at the weekend in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at an interfaith discussion between Pan African scholars and activists on the black Panther movie.

He said the forum aimed at reconnecting the umbilical cord that was cut between Africans and Africans of the diaspora through embracing the religious and spiritual diversities.

He said Ghana was the gateway to Africa and that Africans ought to extend their hands for reconciliation and build the bridge to close the inequality gap for holistic development.

He said the Black Panther movie was personified in the villain of Kill-monger which stayed true to its comic book character who was a King of a highly advanced technological African country with superpowers that the world knew nothing of.

The movie has also revealed explored and wrestled with the complicated relationship that exists between Africans and Africans of the diaspora due to the effects of slavery and colonisation he added.

The Black Panther movie is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The movie is the eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe directed by Ryan Coogler who co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole and stars Chadwick Boseman alongside Michael B. Jordan Lupita Nyong’o among others.
