Berekum: Police in Berekum are investigating a robbery that took place at a shop at the Berekum 'Thursday Market' in the Bono Region. Thieves broke into the provision shop and made away with undisclosed sums of money and other valuables on Thursday night, February 6, 2025.
According to Ghana News Agency, a police source who confirmed the incident stated that no arrests had been made and police investigations were ongoing. Madam Grace Ama, the shop owner, informed the GNA that the thieves also damaged the shop's ceiling. She appealed to the public to provide any information they received in connection with the theft to aid police investigations.
Madam Ama also urged other traders and residents around the market to remain watchful and report people with strange movements and suspicious characters to the police. She called for improved lighting systems at the market. The victims expressed concern that stealing and burgling were becoming common around the market enclave and urged the police to intensify night patrols to bring the situation under control.
