“Be strong because the best is yet to come”- GBA President to Richard Commey

Accra, Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has encouraged former world champion, Richard Commey to bounce back stronger despite his defeat to Ukrainian boxer, Vasiliy Lomachenko at the Madison Square Gardens last Saturday.

Commey recorded his fourth career loss against the ruthless Ukrainian boxer who floored his counterpart with an impressive score 117-110, 119-108, 119-108.

The President of GBA, in a statement released by the Communications Directorate of GBA, commended Richard Commey for fighting well and also keeping his head high for his boxing career.

“I thank God for allowing Commey to see another great fight. No matter what has happened I can only advice our former world champion to keep hope alive, keep trusting in his ability, keep believing, and be strong because the best is yet to come.”

He congratulated Commey and Vasiliy Lomachenko for the excellent display of professional boxing they displayed and also threw their support to the former champion ahead of his future bouts.

“The GBA would remain solidly behind you and your team led by Michael Amoo Bediako in the distress moment and join hands with you and your subsequent endeavours, ” the statement said.

He further went on to talk about the fact that Joshua Commey is not just a world champion but also an inspiration to other young individuals.
