Ato Forson Trial: ‘May you live long and become Ghana’s Chief Justice’ – Charles Owusu to judge

General

Rev. Charles Owusu is in awe of the competence and fortitude of Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe in handling the ambulance purchase trial involving Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and Attorney-General, Godfred Dame.

The former Head of the Monitoring Unit of the Forestry Commission of Ghana believes without a shred of doubt that Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe will let the truth prevail and administer justice appropriately.

According to him, the Justice has proven her grit to continue with the case despite the brouhaha from the National Democratic Congress and other persons who took a stake in the trial by sharing a telephone recording of a conversation between Richard Jakpa, a third accused in the case, and the Attorney-General.

The National Democratic Congress tried to implicate the Attorney-General, but the leaked tape which was tendered in court, according to the Justice, has no evidence that incriminates lawyer Godfred Dame.

Reacting to the determination of the Justice to deliver a verdict on
the case without fear or favour, Charles Owusu warned the parties not to ‘joke with her’.

He therefore vouched for the integrity of Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, praying she becomes Ghana’s next Chief Justice.

‘My prayer is for her to live long and become a Chief Justice in the country,’ he said on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ show.”
