Kumasi Asante Kotoko will face Nigerian champions, Rivers United as part of their pre-season friendly in Turkey next month, Oyerepa FM in Kumasi have reported.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League champions are expected to spend two weeks in the European country preparing for the defense of the title they won last season and the African campaign.

The team will leave Ghana on August 14, 2022, and will be in Turkey from 15 August till August 30.

The Porcupine Warriors will play a series of friendlies against some Turkish clubs and the Nigerian champions who will also be camping in the Southeast European nation before returning to Ghana for the start of the league in September.

The trip is sponsored by City Gates and they will soon announce juicy packages for Kotoko fans who want to join the team for preseason.

Asante Kotoko will also represent the country in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League.
