OHANGWENA: A 16-year-old Angolan boy succumbed to injuries after being allegedly struck with an empty Coca-Cola bottle by a 43-year-old mentally challenged man at Oshikunde village in the Omundaungilo area. The incident, which occurred on Friday evening, has prompted an ongoing police investigation.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Deputy Commissioner Melanie Mburuu, the Namibian Police Force Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Ohangwena Region, reported that the attack took place shortly after both the suspect and the deceased had lunch together. The victim was attacked while taking a shower, where the suspect allegedly hit him on the left ear, causing a deep cut wound. The teenager was found unconscious and was initially taken to Oshikunde clinic before being transferred to Eenhana, where he passed away on Saturday morning.
The victim, who was employed as a domestic worker, and the suspect were not related. The motive behind the attack remains unknown. Police investigations continue as authorities
work to uncover additional details surrounding the incident.
