The newly elected General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah affectionately called JFK has recalled Akufo-Addo’s benevolence towards his legal education.
According to JFK, the idea of becoming a lawyer was given was given a boost way back in 2009 by then candidate Akufo-Addo after he told him he wanted to venture into politics as a full-time job.
He added in an interview on the Accra-based JoyNews’ PM Express on Wednesday, July 20, monitored by Modernghana News, that his fees after he was admitted were settled by the President Akufo-Addo.
“Candidate Akufo-Addo in 2009 advised me to go to the law school after I told him I wanted to do politics as a full-time job. He paid my first fees when I got admitted,” he recalled.
The legal practitioner who has been a member of the NPP campaign team since 2008, revealed that while in law school, Akufo-Addo who was then the Foreign Affairs Minister asked him to join his campaign team.
“During a program in school, President Akufo-Addo then Foreign Affairs Minister spotted me and asked that I joined his campaign team,” he said.
Mr. Justin Frimpong Kodua was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) from 2017 until he was elected as the party’s general secretary on Saturday, July 16 at the Accra Sports Stadium at the party’s national executives elections.
He was the former Ashanti Regional Deputy Youth Organiser in 2010, a member of the NPP Ashanti Regional campaign team in 2008, and the former Chairman of the NPP Youth Legal Committee.
In law school, he focused on corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration, with a particular interest in land disputes and asset management.
He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with an LLB and the Ghana School of Law with a Barrister of Law.
