Ada Youth Organisation Inaugurates New Committees for Governance Enhancement

Accra: The Ada Youth Organisation (AYO), a youth group within the Ada Traditional Area, has inaugurated a Disciplinary Committee and a Constitution Review Committee to enhance internal governance and promote organisational discipline.

According to Ghana News Agency, the two committees were officially inaugurated during the organisation’s National Executive Conference held ahead of the 88th Asafotufiami Festival. The event brought together leaders from various AYO sub-groups.

Mr. Samuel Teye Kabutey, Chairman of AYO, mentioned that despite operating under a constitution since its establishment in 1961, recent developments highlighted gaps necessitating urgent amendments. He noted that certain actions within the group contradicted the current constitutional provisions, prompting the formation of the Disciplinary Committee.

Mr. Kabutey further explained that parts of the constitution were outdated, requiring a comprehensive review to improve clarity and operational effectiveness.

Members of the Disciplinary Committee include Mr. Stephen Aliker as chairman, Mr. Con Amegayibor as secretary, Mr. Theophilus Kposu, Nene Raymond Abayateye, Mr. George Dugbatey, Mr. Gideon Narh Adjaotor, and Ms. Janet Adusu. The Constitution Review Committee comprises Mr. Stephen Aliker as chairman, Mr. Con Amegayibor as secretary, Mr. Francis Gbebie, Mr. Eric Perku, Mr. James Korblah, Mr. Richmond Agarmloh, Ms. Dede Dugbatey, and Mr. Gideon Narh Adjaotor.

The committees are expected to submit their reports at the next general meeting of the organisation. Mr. Stephen Aliker, who chairs both committees, assured the Ghana News Agency that they would work diligently to uphold discipline, ensure transparency, and keep all sub-group leaders informed. He emphasized that their efforts would guide member conduct and reinforce the foundation of the Ada Youth Organisation.
