Vudumane condemns Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie for exposing private details

Ghana’s Afropiano star King Vudumane has condemned the actions of Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson saying that it is unhealthy, and such dark secrets should not be discussed in the public domain.

Vudamane has recently gone viral for sharing his thoughts on Sarkodie’s rebuttal to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, which revealed her relationship with the rapper and resulted in a terminated pregnancy in past years.

According to the US-based artiste who doubles as a producer, Yvonne Nelson was wrong in detailing her private affair with Sarkodie while condemning the latter for his response.

“It is just unpleasant seeing what is going viral in Ghana. Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie are two huge influencers and shouldn’t be portraying certain dark secrets and justifying them in their own creative ways,” he stated.

Vudumane further stated that Ghanaians should not be encouraging such behaviour and that it is wrong to write about abortion or compose a song talking about certain sensitive issues.

Vudumane’s video has sparked a lot of debate on social media, with many people agreeing with his views while others disagree.

Some people believe that Yvonne Nelson should have the right to tell her story, while others believe that it was wrong for Sarkodie to make a song about it.

Why speculations were rife I’ve parted ways with Camidoh – George Britton

Talent manager, George M. Britton has explained why information was circulating that he has parted ways with his artiste, Camidoh.

Throwing more light on the issue, the media maven told Amansan Krakye in an interview that there’s no iota of truth that he almost quit working with Camidoh.

“We never stopped working together but the reason why information was rife that we’re no more is that first I used to walk with Camidoh almost everywhere,” he said on Property FM.

“But he’s growing in the music scene and I’m also growing so it’s not always the case that we should be walking together everywhere,” he as MyNewsGh.com sighted.

“When he started because I’m much more known than him so I had to use my face to connect him but now he’s equally known so I don’t go on some of the rounds with him.

“Nowadays if I’m not there he has to move with his road manager or he’s P.A and so a lot of people concluded that because they don’t see us walking everywhere together we’ve stopped working,” he explained.

When did you join the NPP? – NPP bigwig slams Bawumia’s aide over ‘leave the party’ comments

The Chief Executive Officer of Love Enterprise and leading member of the NPP, Joseph Amoah, has slammed Dr Gideon Boako, an aide to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for saying that party members complaining about the performance of the Akufo-Addo government should leave the party.

According to him, people in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) like Dr Gideon Boako, the economic advisor and spokesperson for Vice President Bawumia, have become so arrogant because of the wealth they have acquired from working in government.

Speaking in an interview on Abusua FM, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, monitored by GhanaWeb, Joseph Amoah said that rather than listening to the cries of Ghanaians so he can advise Dr Bawumia better, Dr Boako is telling people to leave the NPP if they think the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government has failed.

“If you are asked to downsize so that the government would be efficient what is wrong with that? If someone gives you this advice and you have a different opinion, you state it. But you are telling people to leave the party. When did you, Gideon Boako, join the party, you this small boy?

“They don’t have respect. Do you know what money can do? Money is tricking them; power is tricking them and they must be careful.

“Because you, Gideon Boako, you have no right to stand somewhere and tell someone to leave the party if he is not happy with the government,” he said in Twi.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Love Enterprise also slammed the vice president for not reprimanding his aide over the comments he made.

‘TEIN realignment bolsters NDC’s Electoral Prospects

As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares for the upcoming election in 2024, it is important to realign and strengthen its student wing, the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN). TEIN is essential to energizing young voters, spreading the NDC’s ideology, achievements, policies and ensuring the welfare of its members.

TEIN serves as a platform to engage and mobilize young voters who are essential in determining electoral outcomes. The student wing organizes voter education campaigns, seminars, and workshops to enlighten students about the NDC’s policies and achievements. By actively involving TEIN members in grassroots mobilization efforts, the NDC can effectively reach out to young voters and secure their support.

Also, TEIN acts as a conduit for promoting the NDC’s ideology among tertiary students. Through debates, lectures, and discussions, TEIN members are encouraged to understand and articulate the party’s vision, policies, and values. This engagement fosters political consciousness among students, nurturing future leaders who can advocate for progressive change within their communities.

TEIN serves as a platform for student representation within the NDC. It provides opportunities for young members to voice their concerns, opinions, and aspirations. By actively participating in party structures and decision-making processes, TEIN members can influence policy discussions and ensure that the voices of young people are heard.

Caring for the wellbeing of TEIN members is paramount to ensuring their active participation and dedication to the party. The NDC, through TEIN, should provide mentorship programs, leadership training, and career guidance to empower its members. Additionally, organizing social events, recreational activities, and forums for networking can foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie among TEIN members.

TEIN should be promoted as a vibrant and inclusive association within the NDC. By highlighting the achievements and contributions of TEIN members, the student wing can attract more young people to join its ranks. This can be achieved through effective branding, social media campaigns, and collaboration with other youth-oriented organizations.

As the NDC gears up for the 2024 election, it is important to realign TEIN toward achieving victory. Mobilizing young voters, promoting the NDC’s ideology, advocating for student representation, and catering for the well-being of TEIN members are key aspects that must be prioritized.

By strengthening TEIN as an association under the NDC, the party can tap into the energy and enthusiasm of young people, ensuring a vibrant future for both the NDC and Ghana as a whole.

Wontumi slams Mahama over claim Assin North results was a verdict on Akufo-Addo’s presidency

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, a.k.a Chairman Wontumi, has taken a swipe at former President John Dramani Mahama over his claim that the results of the Assin North by-election is a verdict on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s presidency.

According to him, Mahama, as a former president, should know that the dynamics of the presidential elections are different from that of parliamentary elections.

Wontumi, who made these remarks in a Kessben TV interview, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, added that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) winning the Assin North by-election is not surprising because they won the seat in 2020.

“The former president is known for making such remarks. NPP also won the Kumawu by-election, just about a month ago. So, what is the former president trying to say?

“… who won the 2020 parliamentary election in Assin North? The NDC. At the Kumawu by-election, the NPP won at places Mahama won in the 2020 election.

“The former president should not be confused about this; we have presidential elections and parliamentary elections. The Assin North election was not a presidential election. So, the former president is just dumb,” he said in Twi.

What Mahama said?

The flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr John Mahama, said; “a big thank you” to the voters in the Assin North constituency of the Central Region, “for supporting James Gyakye Quayson and rejecting the non-performing NPP” in Tuesday’s (27 June 2028) by-election.

“Your vote for justice and development is truly inspiring”, the former president said, adding: “Let’s keep working together to build the Ghana we all dream of”.

About the Assin North election:

According to the Electoral Commission’s announcement, James Gyakye Quayson garnered a total of 17,245 votes, representing 57.56% of the total votes cast.

His closest contender, Charles Opoku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received 12,630 votes, accounting for 42.15% of the votes.

Bernice Enyonam Sefenu of the Liberal Party Ghana (LPG) secured 87 votes, which represented 0.29% of the overall tally.

The by-election in Assin North was held to fill the parliamentary seat left vacant following a legal battle that questioned Quayson’s eligibility to hold office due to dual citizenship concerns.

‘I take strong exception to that, respect yourself!’ – Deputy Minister ‘wrestles’ NDC MP on TV

Two members of Parliament clashed on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme (June 29) in a discussion on the aftermath of the Assin North by-election.

The two were John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South and Kofi Adams of Buem.

Kofi Adams’ claim that Ntim Fordjour had been hooted at before and during the June 27 by-election by National Democratic Congress faithful was the trigger that left his colleague MP and Deputy Minister to issue a stern reaction.

Adams said in an area of the constituency, Ningo Gangan, the deputy minister was hooted at “not just on day of election but the day before when he peddled falsehood on a radio programme.”

The Assin South MP hit back almost immediately, “I take strong exception to that, please respect yourself, rise above that,” he charged pointing a finger at Kofi Adams.

The Buem MP, however, continued: “At the end of the day, the good people of Assin North spoke.” He added that with the victory at Assin North, the two other Assin constituencies – Central and South – will see a new breath.

Ntim Fordjour fired a response to that claim, “come for it (the seat),” he jabbed before admonishing Adams to rather focus on securing his seat.
