2022 World Cup: Black Stars players must be bold – Asamoah Gyan

Asamoah Gyan has called on the Black Stars players to be bold and take the risk ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Following the defeat against Brazil in September during the international break, the playing body have come under pressure with several Ghanaians questioning the quality of the team.

Ghana will open their Mundial campaign against Portugal in Group H before taking on South Korea in their second group game.

The West African country will face old foes Uruguay in their final group game.

With less than two months to the start of the global showpiece, Gyan, who played in the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups has called on the players to be brave and bold in games.

“In the last six games played, Black Stars have struggled to create any meaningful chances and it is frustrating,” he told Kumasi-based Kessben FM.

“It is better to create chances and fail to convert them but in our case, we are not creating at all.

“The players must be bold and take the risk because this is the World Cup and you must be ready for the risk,” he added.

Ghana returned to the World Cup at the expense of Nigeria having missed out in the last edition in Russia in 2018.
